Valley of Guadiana River, in the boundary between Albacete and Ciudad Real provinces. |
The area, with 15 lagoons over a surface of 3772 hectares, is considered one of the most beautiful
and interesting westlands in the Iberian Peninsula. It is characterized by the waterfalls between the lagoons. |

The Tablas de Daimiel National
Park is situated at the confluence of the rivers Guadiana and Gigüela, about 10 km northwest of the town of Daimiel
and 20 km northeast of the city of Ciudad Real, in the extreme southwest of the autonomous region of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. |
It covers an area of 25000 hectares of lagoons with numerous islets with an enormously rich fauna, especially migratory birds. This area
is the last example of a type of wetlands of the central plain: the pluvial flats, whose vegetation is an exceptional habitat for its animal life:
amphibians and reptiles, birds and aquatic mammals. |

This town is 22 km southeast of Ciudad Real. The visitor must not miss the Plaza Mayor, on a rectangular plan and consisting of two flanks
of colonnades below two continous galleries. In the square there is the famous Corral de Comedias, which hosts the annual International
Festival of Classical Theatre. |
